Sauna guide for our holiday guests

Each of our holiday homes has its own private sauna. Whether you're a sauna beginner or have decades of experience, you can relax here as our guest and boost your immune system. Regular sauna use improves circulation and helps reduce stress.

Duration of a sauna session

  • A classic sauna session lasts 8–15 minutes.
  • Cool down after each session (shower, rub with snow, or roll in the snow).

  • 2–3 sessions are recommended.

Temperature range pending on health condition

  • Beginners & those sensitive to circulation issues: start with mild temperatures (50–60°C) on the lowest bench

  • Healthy adults: a Finnish sauna (80–90°C) is ideal

  • Experienced sauna-goers can also tolerate higher temperatures (90–100°C)

  • Pregnant women, older adults & those with blood pressure issues: proceed with caution

Infusion with natural sauna oils

  • Once the sauna is well heated (after 5-10 min), mix 0.5 liters of water with a few drops of infusion oil in the provided wooden trough.

  • Slowly ladle this mixture over the hot stones. Caution: risk of splashing!

  • Afterward, sit or lie down quietly and breathe deeply.

  • A variety of natural sauna oils are available 🙂.

  • Children aged 3–4 and up can use the sauna under supervision.

  • Only short sessions (3–5 minutes), at low temperatures (max 60°C).

  • Do not use infusions and cool down with lukewarm water (no plunge pool!); make sure the children drink enough.

  • Never force children to use the saune.

Avoid the sauna if you have:

  • A cold, runny nose, cough, or sore throat

  • Fever or flu-like infections

  • Cardiovascular conditions

  • Inflammatory conditions

  • If pregnant or living with a chronic condition, consult a doctor beforehand.

Sauna etiquette

  • The sauna is normally a place of peace and quiet. As a family, a little more liveliness is part of the fun.

  • The sauna is used either nude or wrapped in a towel; shoes should be left in the changing area (to avoid unpleasant odors). That way, everyone has a good time.

  • Never sit on the wood benches without a towel.

  • Keep a reasonable distance from other sauna guests.

  • Close the door quickly to avoid losing heat.

For everyone: If you start to feel unwell, leave the sauna immediately.
